This is one of those shots that I really appreciate.....probably because it took so long before I got a chance to visit here. This is Scripps Pier in La Jolla, CA. Unlike most piers, this one isn't open to the public. It's used for stuff like boat launches and oceanographic experiments on the Pacific Ocean. But the really cool thing is that its like 1000 feet long and pretty much perfectly straight, so its like crack to photographers....and there were about 6 others with me...one dude from Russia, another from New Zealand, a couple of California boys and me, the lone represent from the East Coast.
A summer sunrise at Oxbow Bend in Grand Tetons National Park. If you look over at the left, you will see the famous Grizzly ,known as 610, and her 2 cubs sharing the morning wth us.
Just before sunset....under the pier in Santa Monica Beach. (Anyone know what 70's-80's TV show Intro was filmed on this pier?) I don't really know what the deal is with this little red boat (actually there are 3 of them), but it certainly did look cool sticking out of the sand like that.
