One of my favorite shots from our trip to Disneyworld last week. Since we were at the Boardwalk we spent a lot of time in Epcot, especially at the Morocco and France pavilions…because that was about as far as my father could walk. He did amazingly well for 91 year old guy, though. I tried to get him one of those little scooters, but he just wouldn’t have it. I think it would have been to much of a blow to his Italian pride. So, while I took this picture, he just sat and people-watched……and yelled “Hey, Marco…..you &$^%*# camera no straight”.
Expedition Everest (coolest ride EVER!!) had closed down one night because of a heavy rain, but a nice cast member let me in to walk around in the queue. The area I am standing in is only opened during really long lines….else it’s closed off. It’s pretty amazing the detail that the Disney folks put in to these waiting areas. I found out later that Disney sent a team of people to Nepal to study and and bring back artifacts that would make riders feel like they were checking in to an Everest base camp before going in to the mountain. The Yeti was even designed based on conversations that they had had with some of the natives. For me, I just get a kick out of watching my youngest daughter giggle as we ride it…
Another example of fine Disney imagineering....the exit of the Haunted Mansion in Disneyworld.
